In the final class of the week, we will have a fishbowl discussion where we will discuss the merits of the options available to the world for solving these two issues as proposed by policy experts. You will be the policy experts in this discussion and will talk about the pros and cons of each issue in a 30-minute fishbowl forum. Using the PDF files you have above to guide your research (you will need to look beyond the readings listed above, but they should provide you with a great start), you will make arguments about the course the world needs to take in regards to these challenges and come prepared with them in class on a pros and cons options sheet. For those of you outside the fishbowl, you will need to fill in a pros and cons options sheet based on what you hear during each deliberation. The policy deliberation rubric will be used to assess your performance during this assignment. It will be the most critical discussion assessment of the year. After the discussion, you will reflect on the deliberation and fill in the options that you think would best suit the situations in the order you think fits best. Your pros and cons options sheets will be due during that last class.
As with all any fishbowl activity a seat will be open for you to take a moment to state a question for the group to address. This is important for this activity.
